Maps in Qlik Sense

We use maps to geographically display the info loaded in Qlik Sense. Any data which is predicated on information associated with countries, cities, states, region etc., are often displayed using maps visualizations. In maps, first there’s a base map which establishes a base impression of the planet map, then comes the layers upon it, which are the precise locations highlighted on the map in several ways like area, points, density, lines etc. Hence, a map is comprised of a base map and layers. you’ll add as many layers as you would like. Layers are basically the info values of dimensions or measures. If you would like to ascertain specific data points on specific locations, like average sales per city, you’ll select the points layer on a base map layout. this may show points of certain size and color on the situation of specific cities showing the typical sales there.

What are Maps in Qlik Sense
In a map, you’ll set a location scope which sets the main target on one area within the map. Or, if you’ve got an outsized data set you’ll create drill-down dimensions (hierarchical arrangement of fields) and add it to a layer. This provides more data which we will view in limited scope by drill-down.
Layers in Qlik Sense Maps
Layers are the way through which you display your data on different locations on the map. These are comprised of dimensions and measures. you’ll add multiple layers which overlap on one another and even set a zoom level for them. By setting the zooming level, you fix after what percentage drill-downs will a particular layer show. This arranges the info in detailed layers which is simpler for you to grasp and analyze. In Qlik Sense there are five sorts of layers available.

i. Point Layer
In a point layer, data values are displayed as points on corresponding locations on the map. The points are often in several shapes like bubble, triangle, square, pentagon, and hexagon. you’ll either keep the dimensions of the purpose fixed or varying consistent with the measure or the expression. some extent layer can contain or display up to 50,000 points at a time on the map.

ii. Area Layer
The area layer displays a whole area like a knowledge value in shaded color. you’ll select the colour scheming and criterion for coloring the areas. The areas are often a rustic , sate, city etc. you’ll display up to 10,000 different areas on a neighborhood layer at a time.

iii. Line Layer
A line layer connects two data points and shows a line between them. we will also code the lines. Also, you’ll add an arrow and set the width and curvature of the road . an honest example of using line layer is once you want to point out traffic of flights between different cities of various countries. you’ll display up to twenty ,000 lines at a time on a map.

iv. Density Layer
The density layer shows the density point like the magnitude of knowledge values. The points are shown like influence points with their center showing the very best influence and it declines on the outer areas of the purpose . Through the properties panel, you’ll set the radius, color, and scale of the influence point. This layer is employed once you want to point out activity hotspots, population densities etc. on the map.

v. Background layer
Background layer may be a custom base map layer which you’ll add consistent with your requirement. as an example , a background map of an airport are often used as a base map upon which you’ll add some extent layer showing WIFI hotspots available at different locations at the airport.
